Health & Safety in our lambing shed
Your health and safety is one of our top priorities. Lower House Farm has made efforts to minimise risks and our procedures are outlined below to keep you safe. Please read this thoroughly before purchasing your tickets.
All visitors attend at their own risk and must agree to this prior to visiting. By purchasing this ticket you accept responsibility for you and other people booked under these tickets to ensure your own safety and will adhere to the health and safety measures outlined below.
All animals naturally carry a range of bugs, some of which can be passed on to humans, where they may cause ill health. Included among these bugs is E coli 0157, and Cryptosporidium, which can cause severe illness. In order to keep you safe, we have taken a number of steps:
-
Trained animal care staff. Their instruction must be followed.
-
Disinfection measures upon entry and exit must be adhered to.
-
Hand Wash Stations must be used. Hand Gels are not an effective substitute against many diseases.
-
Children who are prone to finger sucking should not participate due to high risk.
-
We recommend this activity for children aged 3 and up though younger children can participate with close supervision and assistance
If you or anyone in your party are or may be pregnant, we advise against contact with Sheep/Lambs, as well as Goats/Kids.
While we have taken every reasonable precaution for your health and safety, there are still risks involved in all forms of animal contact. By proceeding with your booking you are agreeing that you understand and accept these risks.
